The Model XS draws inspiration from the classic travel clock and is capable of being tucked away nicely by folding into a streamline clamshell case. Held fully in place by a tightly-strung, bright red wire, the matte black light is emblematic of the clever combination of form and function that contemporary design seems to be edging towards as of late. Kaws Light Bulbs!!

The Standard's series of artist editions continues with Brooklyn-based artist, KAWS. This is a limited, but non-numbered edition of 1,000 sets that contain 3 bulbs each, of one bulb in each color: red, purple and green.

The 3 watt bulbs have a warm low glow. Dimensions of each globe is about 4.75" x 2.25" and they screw into any standard incandescent fixture. 120 volts. We love how they look on a light string using multiple sets. The bulbs are individually boxed with a KAWS and The Standard sticker and then wrapped again in an outer box that holds all three, also co-branded. Outer box is designed to ship as is without additional packaging.

This island has everything you could possibly want in a kitchen—save for a dishwasher. Oh, and a microwave. And I don't see a George Foreman grill there either. Ok, so it doesn't have every single cooking instrument you may need, but if you're limited on space but still want your kitchen to look like it's fallen from the pages of a home decor magazine, this would be my choice.

LAQ x Darcel by Craig Redman Furniture Collection

In an interesting mash-up, French brand LAQ has teamed up with Darcel creator Craig Redman on a capsule furniture collection, centered around his by now popular Darcel character.

“The meeting of the founders of LAQ, Raphaël and Pascal, with Craig Redman, gave birth to a Darcel shown in 3D, a product of the encounter of contemporary culture and ancient techniques. Made of resin, wood and painted metal, mother-of-pearl and eggshell, this high definition version of Darcel, coming from a psychedelic universe, hip and disillusioned, also offers hidden storage in its eye, like the secretive stately furniture of the seventeenth century. A radical confrontation of periods, styles and ideas!”

The outcome of the collection are two stools and a sculpture, all three being showcased soon at colette in Paris. The Parisian concept store will also sell them.
