Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

When Milton wrote about Paradise Lost, he obviously hadn’t been to The Maldives yet. Situated in the middle of the Indian Ocean, a new luxury resort has been developed that’s situated right in the heart of the Maldives Islands. Although its existence has been a well-kept secret, word has slowly spread about a new luxury resort that’s recently been developed in the area. For €1,240 EUR a night (approximately $1,770 USD), couples can opt to stay in the resort’s underwater Honeymoon Suite which is located five meters below sea level and surrounded by swarms of exotic fish. With 50 houses on stilts, 79 private villas and beach villas, Conrad Rangali Island truly is paradise on earth for those looking for a nice, relaxing getaway.

China unveils space station, launching by 2020

China's been making its mark on the world for years, but there's still one massive piece of real estate where the country's citizens haven't hung their ubiquitous red flag: space. The China Manned Space Engineering Office hopes to change that within the next decade, however, unveiling a model of its first space station on Monday. The station's current moniker is Tiangong (Chinese for "heavenly palace") but the space agency is asking the public to suggest alternatives at kongjianzhan@vip.qq.com through July 25th. At 60 tons, the complete facility is significantly smaller than the 419-ton International Space Station, so residents should probably keep the man cave tidy in case Chinese astronauts need some room to stretch out while not connecting to the PlayStation Network.

Solar Wind bridge concept could power 15,000 homes, grow vegetables

Designed by Francesco Colarossi, Giovanna Saracino and Luisa Saracino as part of an Italian design contest to re-imagine a decommissioned bridge (for which it placed second), this so-called Solar Wind concept would have solar cells embedded in the roadway (an idea that's already catching on) and an array of 26 wind turbines underneath, which the designers say could produce enough energy combined to power 15,000 homes.

Wall Street Bull by Olek

NYC-based artist Crocheted Olek crochets just about anything you could imagine, best viewed through her website here. She recently made-over the famous Wall Street Bull, done up in mix of neon yarns and covered completely from head to toe. The stunt took about two hours to complete according to Olek, although it was removed shortly after. Not much other details are available, but this is surely some of the coolest street art news we’ve heard in a bit.
